Homemade flavored whipped cream: the trick for an intense taste

Homemade flavored whipped cream: the trick for an intense taste

Homemade whipped cream is already delicious… but flavored whipped cream adds that extra “wow” factor. Here's the simple method to achieve a perfect texture and a strong fragrance.

The 2 golden rules

  • Everything must be very cold : cream + mixing bowl + whisks.
  • Add the sugar at the right time : when the cream starts to thicken, not at the beginning.

Ingredients (for approximately 4 servings)

  • 20 cl of very cold, full-fat liquid cream
  • 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of flavored sugar (depending on the desired intensity)

Step-by-step recipe

  1. Place the mixing bowl and whisks in the freezer for 10 minutes (or in the fridge for 30 minutes).
  2. Pour in the very cold cream and begin whipping at medium speed.
  3. When the cream thickens (soft texture), add the flavored sugar .
  4. Continue whipping until you obtain a firm whipped cream, without over-whipping.

The trick for a more intense flavor

Add the flavored sugar when the cream starts to thicken : The fragrance is distributed better and remains more present in the mouth. (If you add it too early, it will "dilute" and the taste will seem lighter.)

Which flavors should I choose?

  • Vanilla : perfect on fruit, waffles, gourmet coffee
  • Toasted hazelnut : incredible on hot chocolate, crepes, brownies
  • Tiramisu : the “signature dessert” effect in 10 seconds
  • Lemon : great with red berries, pavlova, cheesecake
